We the undersigned would like to express urgent need for a shuttle that runs at regular intervals from Forbes, and goes at least to Frist and to the E-Quad. Our suggestion: expand the present campus shuttle system to include Forbes as a stop, and have a direct and convenient route on that shuttle to locations up-campus.
Princeton's P-Rides Campus Shuttle system consists of the Orange Line, the Green Line, and the Blue Line, none of which stops at Forbes. The Green Line stops at the Dinky station but then goes on to take a convoluted route to the Grad College and other graduate housing ( http://www.princeton.edu/pr/visitors/maps/PRides-Spring2008.gif ). All three lines are often seen to be running without many people on them. On the other hand, P-rides Express has reduced its hours this year and is often out-of-service when students call in. When it does run, students are asked sometimes to travel immediately or are subjected to a 20 minute wait at other times. It is therefore sporadic and unreliable.
Forbes students have to plan their day before setting out in the morning, and are often subjected to a long walk back to their room late at night. The Forbes students will gain incredibly from this addition to the shuttle system at Princeton.
We thank you for reading this letter, and hope that you will take immediate action.
Yours Sincerely,
Forbes College Residents and Other Concerned Princetonians
